Petsmart story

So I live in las Vegas keep in mind during the story. I went to Petsmart to get crickets and the lady told me a story. There was this lady that called and said how does she get rid of an animal in the back yard. She told them to call animal control. Then she asked what kind of animal it was she said it was an alligator and it was around 4 feet. She also couldn't find the alligator sometimes. The lady called and called and finally they came and took the animal. She called back to Petsmart and asked for the lady. She told her they picked up the animal. Then I guess animal controls said it was a chameleon! I don't Kno if she was tell the truth or not what do u think? A chameleon that was 4 feet long? And that was walking around las Vegas? I don't think it's true.

I'd guess either an iguana or a monitor.

When I lived in NJ I got one of those "come get the alligator in my woodpile" type calls too (I love them). Went over to the house with a dog crate and gloves wondering just what it would turn out to be. It was a beautiful blue-tailed monitor hiding under their shed. She took up residence in my guest bathroom under the vanity and swimming in the tub. Of course I called around to local herpers, pet shops, etc. to see if anyone called about a missing one. Then I remembered a classified ad in a regional newpaper about monitors, so called the number. Turned out, her original owner who lived about 10 miles away, had imported a breeding group at great expense, and his only remaining female clawed her way through a window screen a month earlier. Sure enough, my monitor guest was his and he was ecstatic to get her back before she got run over, killed with a shovel or by a dog, shot, etc.

Hahaha the crazy stuff you see at petsmart...I work at one, and two days ago a guy brought in a live mole because he didn't know what to do with it.

i live in vegas and i visited a petsmart in henderson and i never knew how bad they took care of their chameleons, the cham they had there was a veiled and looked dried up with its eyes close and the tank set up pretty bad with a water bowl sitting there and 1 vine, no where for it to hide.

That's hilarious!!! :D:D:D

my friend's a manager at one of the petco in vegas, and she sees how the other workers treats the chameleons so she ends up not ordering them anymore. :D but she can order them for me :D woot woot.

Why buy from a petco when you can get a captive bred baby from a breeder on this forum? Your gonna get a "cham mill" veiled from petco. Here you'll get to see the sire & dame and know it was cared for properly during a critical stage of delevopment. Plus you'll prob get a better deal $$ wise also.

my friend discounts me on the chams for only 45$ + tax

Maybe even an Iguana?? They have been known to get out and take walks by themselves? They are green like a lot of Chameleons, how can someone mistake a Chameleon for an Alligator, they look nothing a like! lol!!!

I wish I could keep my chameleons outside. They dont like the 118's that it was last week :(

i agree but right before sun down i take my male nosy be i purchased from you guys at your store out side to hang out on the peach tree in our back yard hes doing great hes getting big
