my male cham emilio wont touch his grub unless its dusted in calcium, its gettin hard to get him to eat the grub with vitamin powder on, has any1 got any ideas what i can do? im using nutrobal by the way and thats a yellow colour compared to the white of the calcium. cheers,Craig.

Silly question, but will he eat crickets or superworms dusted with vitamin powder? "Grubs", in my experience are not particularly lively and it can be hard to get the cham's attention, while a lively insect - even with a funny-looking yellow powder - can be irresistable.

ive been tryin to feed him locusts dusted with the vit powder but hes avin none of it ill get some cricks and see if that works, what are the healthiest type of worm i can get? as some are high in chitin arent they

silkworms and hornworms are the healthiest, but dont feed them exclusively cuz the chams poo will be like diarrihea; believe me i know, mine woke me up with the nastiest splattering and smell, i was grossed out.

haha right cheers josh i wont do that, i wud just feed them on the days he was ment to have his vitamins, ill have a scout round for those two worms then as im not really that fussed on crix , locusts i can cope with but crix are just evil  lol

damn! hornworms arent aloud in the uk as theyre a pest or something, and i cant find silkworms anywhere, ive found butterworms but theyre really expensive! are they any good?

Butterworms are high in fat so should only be used as an occassional treat...they are like candy to a kid.

What about superworms? They are like crickets and roaches...very easy to gutload and wriggle a lot making them interesting to a cham :)

ahhh right ill stay away from butterworms then lol, i can get the superworms a.k.a morios , are they ok the eat everyday then? i thought they were high in chitin, i wouldnt be feedin them everyday im just curious.

Its the mealworms that you have to stay away from. They are high in chitin and not very nutritious. I use superworms a few times a week for variety as they are easy to keep and dont chirp like crickets :D

thats awesome , i did have some a while ago but i always thought they were bad so never used em, ill order some 2mora :D i would only use them one maybe two days a week. emilio is approx. 18 months now i actually got him a year ago today lol

ive never tried flies what type of flies would i feed a full grown cham?

panthercham thankyou :D but the cham in my pic isnt emilio that is phoebe she was my female cham but sadly died on saturday, she was certainly a beautiful cham :D

ive tried houseflies ordered online and my chams went crazy for them. but i also heard blue bottle flies are larger and superior to houseflies but i havent tried them yet. i dont think flies would be ideal to fill chams bellies with, but to give em a treat and something new to eat; and stimulate "picky eaters".

ah right thats cool ill keep an eye out for the blue bottle flies , its always good to mix it up a little eh.

thankyou panthercham :D
