plants, & pair jackson chameleons..HELP!!

For the last past week my male has been trying to get out the cage he spends most of the time on the side of the cage trying to escape his cage is ginormous and it has 2 nice ficus plants and a schefflera plant 2waterfalls his colors are bright and awsome not dark at all, hes housed with a female, ?? Is that normal for him or she stressing him out

shes not receptive, so today I moved her to another cage im just afraid if switching her to a new cage will get her stressed out...???

I also bought another ficus frm home depot I soaked it in anti bacterial soap, but the soil seems to have a couple rollie pollies and some worm looking type of things with a lot of legs lol... im afriad that my female will eat them.. what to do??

Well the ficus soil should always be rePlaced and the roots washed also get rid if the waterfall as they only spawn bacteria and chams won't drink from them

I have the exo terra ones i washed them every other day... so I take out all the dirt till the roots show and washed them is that what ur saying?

First off putting them in separate cages was the best idea and may stress her out for a few days but in the end it is worth it.

I would wash all the leaves as you did. I then cover the soil with large rocks stopping her from eating the soil. I wouldn't have thought the bugs would do any harm if eaten by accident. I have personally never replaced the soil in any of my plants before and haven't for the past 6 years I have been using live plants with chameleons.

Nice thanks for the advice ...im just worried becuase ive heard that home depot sprays pesticides for the insects...

I agree with Bradley, you should always keep you chams in separate cages. That makes for less stress all around. I wash my leaves of plants with mild dish soap. I put the soap on my hands, rub the leaves thoroughly but be gentle. Covering the rocks works for me unless a plant starts getting to much water, the I take the plant out remove most of the soil, remove 1/4 to 1/3 of the soil and replace it with sand to provide more drainage, put the plant back in the cage.
