Hello,
I need help with my veilled chameleon. He has a large red protrusion coming out of his rear end. Am not sure what to do? Has anyone else had this issue? He has been eating and drinking up to this point. There is a little bit of blood also. I had taken him to the vet about 6 months ago for and the doctor had removed two long long things from his rear. Before these were removed he was not able to poop. After these were removed he was happy and ate and pooped. He can't poop at this point. Please can anyone give some advise?

Any chance you can post a picture? You are describing a prolapse, but I am not able to say for sure without a picture. If it is a prolapse you need a vet NOW.

KY is a lubricant. Its commonly sold for use in intercourse, but its general and original use is for keeping open wounds moist and from drying out. Your chameleon has a "prolapse". Cant be sure what exactly is coming out of him, any more info you have on the surgeries is important. Its imperative you keep his inards that have come out moist so it doesnt dry. How long has it been out?
You will NEED a vet ASAP if it doesnt go back in, and if it does you may still want to see one.

If its been out for that long its def a prolapse.
which if it wont go in on its own, and it sounds like now it cant, you need a vet now!
the KY is used to lubricate it, and keep it from drying out, which if it does dry out could require amputation of whatever part it is.

Pain? Its highly possible. Not much you can do for that. If you have KY keep it heavily coated with it. Good luck!

constipation, injury. just happens.

does he hav access to dirt from real plants? or anyting on the bottom of your cage?
