Hi, i currently have 2 veiled Chameleons...a female at the age of aroumd 8 month and a male at the age of 4 nonths old. I have just gone to check on the younger Male now and the end of his nose has turned dark purple/black and has like a dint/ridge across the front of his nose asif he has been pushing against something (maybe the heat bulb cage) i am not sure what to do i am worried as i dont want it to cause him pain or even worse any long term problems with eating ect...please has anybody experienced this before?? Thanks

I don't think it's too savvier, but you need to make sure he cant burn himself on that light. It would be better on the top out of the enclosure in my opinion.

I have just had a feel of the cage and it doesnt feel that hot, the cage is exo terra snd doesnt conduct heat much but i think im going to rearrange the vivarium

The only problem is that he really likes climbing on the mesh and hanging upside down at the moment (hopefully he will grow out of it lol) so i think if the heat bulb goes outside of the vivarium the mesh at the top will get hotter and if hes climbing on the roof he is more likely to burn his belly. The cage around the heat bulb is coated with a protective paint which reduces the heat conducted by the metal. I just hope his little nose heals back soon.
