:(Clouseau seemed to be recovering nicely from his stomatitis, even his eyes seemed to bother him less but between last night and today, he has taken a turn for the worse. He is clearly dehydrated, I tried to give him water orally but he acted like he was going to vomit so I stopped because I had to given him his meds. He now sits with his head pointed upward and occasionally will gape, especially after doing something stressful like taking meds. We have a vet appointment today I hope there is something she can do for him.

Omar ripped a big hunk of his scab on his back off. I don't know if he did it climbing through his vines or what because it had started to lift up a bit. Now he has about an inch and a half area on his back that is raw pink flesh! I believe it is quite painful as well since he pulls away when I put his medication on it. I wish there was some type of bandage or covering that could protect it without getting wet from the mister.

It is not a happy chameleon day at my house! I really think there was something wrong with that batch of hornworms that died unexpectedly which made Clouseau sick. Please everyone say a prayer or send good thoughts for my boys.:(

Pets

I am so sorry your pets are having problems. Ask Vet if that spray bandage stuff could be used. Prayers sent for your guys!

Veils have great coordination with their feet. I have seen them take their back feet and remove sheds from their back. Even seen them kick a cricket off their back with a foot. It is quite possible he ripped it off intentionally. So, I would lean towards it not being anything you have prevented him from doing. If it was itching him, like scabs do us humans, he probably removed it himself.

I am most worried about Clouseau. Despite his wounds Omar's behavior has been perfectly normal, exploring, eating and drinking. Clouseau not so much. Stays in one place, eyes closed, dull, I just hope I don't lose him. I know how these guys can fool you, fine one day and dead the next!

I wish my bests for your chams Debbie! I hope it is just a quick sickness which will go away fast! And in Omar's case, at least it is not too bad,so hopefully the healing cream will help soon! :(
Keep us updated, let us know what the vet said!

Well he has a respiratory infection that the vet believes originated with the stomatitis. She also thinks the eyes are OK and they had been improving but now he is keeping both of them closed most of the time. He is pretty lethargic and dehydrated. She gave him some fluids and I have some to give him daily; the antibiotic was switched to chloramphenicol. He also lost 10 grams. Is there any quality nutritional supplement that I could give him? I tried force feeding a silkworm the other day and it was very traumatic and stressful. Thanks for all the thoughts and well wishes. I really hope he turns around.
