Look at my cham poop tell me what do yall think
Very likely he has parasites or is fighting some sort of infection. I've only seen that happen with chameleons that have one or the other.

now he has been fighting an infection since Ive had him... He has been to the doctor for the eye and has eye ointment and has taken the meds that the doctor gave him... I have set him up with an appointment to see the doctor for that and I kept the poop to take to the doctor on monday... so you think it can be parasites... Ok what if I tell you he aint had a poop in 2 months or more and thhis the 1st one in months... I am think he was impacted...

Are you serious, no poop in 2 months
? That's not good at all and very irresponsible. I'm not here to bash you, but dude that is way too long.

Donna, please think about your posts before you send them. This is a chameleon that has been sick and has been to the vet a number of times.

Well before I posted it I went back and checked Chamillonaire's past post and didn't see anything that indicated that or that a How to Ask for Help was ever filled out. If you have had 79 post and still don't know that 2 months for a cham to go without pooping is a major concern (and it should be if he hasn't pooped in a week) well then I apologize.

I agree with Donna, it would have been good to mention his constipation to your vet at one of the previous visits. But as long as you're taking him soon, with the poop, talk to him about it because if there is more impaction then there might have to take an X-ray and perscribe special food formulas.

On top of what Olimpia said, you should always, always check your cham's poop. That tells you alot and mainly about hydration. Urates should be white and poop should be brown and not runny. It's hard to tell if your cham is sick and one way to know is by monitoring their poop.

There's an assumption that the doctor has not been informed. I don't get that from the initial post. I agree with gabzzy that the meds the chameleon is on could easily contribute to digestive problems. Hopefully, the doctor is on top of that.

I think it would be a good idea to answer the "how to ask for help" questions so we can determine what's really going on. What do you feed him and specifically what meds and why is he taking?

History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?

I'm sorry Donna but I was think he poop was falling in the plants. And he will be going back to the vet tomorrow. I will let ya know whats going on.

Kudas you have nothing to apologize for, sorry for being so harsh. It would really benefit your cham if you would answer the "how to ask for help" questions. I dont' know who your vet is, but I lost 2 chams to vets that thought they knew what they were doing.

hey everyone just took the cham to the doctor and he stated that the cham was fool of coccida... when i bought him from the store he had this problem and we treated it now its back again and he is on a stronger med... he has gained weight also he is 142grams the cham also had a eye infection when I got him and the eye is good its not an infection its just taking him along time to heal... he said the cham dont heal quickly... the Dr is James Talbert great vet for all animals and exotic reptiles...

To the op. Try feeding hornworms for awhile til he starts pooping on a reg basis. I would also up hydration as stated earlier. I'd give him at least 2-3 showers a week as long as he's taking meds. Jmo

If your cham is impacted, can you feel a full belly when you rub it? Just curious, mine poop all the time and my little girl has decided that her egg laying bin is her new litter pan.
