Preparing for my first chameleon, tips appreciated

I have a heck of a time keeping real bigger plants alive, we don’t have enough light either, they always seem to die. I love how lightweight the fakes ones are too, they are much more portable for me!

What a cutie! V says friends are allowed on his page :)

I love the chameleon mouths, I'm not sure what it is about them. I tell V all the time i love his mouth and chin.

Dat chin!!

Thanks, it was love at first sight for us both very much lol. He's still dipping his toes in the water towards us but coming around rather quickly I think. Yes the veilds do tend to have that grumpy look on them . Though I will say, our journey started out due to that little male veiled we saw originally, I'm beyond stoked we found blue and were able to give him his forever home. There will be others I have no doubt of but, this little man "spoke" to us the most of the few we looked at in our beginning stages of any of the species or locales. I still want a verrucosus, soon hopefully, a Jackson at some point and of course a female nosy be for blue. @Krissy83 desperately wants a purple cham some where along the line too but I think after a chat with Matt we be waiting for a while on that one lol.

My kitty is about 8 years old and very good about all the critters. She'll sniff them, but doesn't hunt them. If she showed any sign of considering them prey, I'd never allow them together
That's impressive! I'm hoping blue and my cat Morris become the best of friend's. This may be wishful thinking on my part though but you never know he's more mellow then the other one. Definitely would trust Morris with blue then the other's though. Funny how he was supposed to be @dshuld baby now he's completely a mama's boy. Snuggles right up by my side hard to fall asleep without him there.

hey guys, i was wondering how low temps can get at night for a baby chameleon? yknow since you cant leave their lights on... thank you.

I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure that as long as the temperature in your house is above 60 degrees, you'll be fine.

From my understanding they can get quite low, like down to the 40s, but average household night temp should be more than fine. My house is set at 68

40's might be too cold, I am no expert in veiled's, but upper 60's should be about right. @jannb is great with veiled's.
Oh by no means would I ever recommend them getting down into the 40's, I just recall reading somewhere that they are ok if they get that low. I believe it was in reference to taking them to the vet in cold weather.
I already feel badly letting them get chilly at 68. The dragons feel like ice packs!

Just another sleepy V pic

I don't want to get too excited, but I think he ate two crickets today. I added three crickets to his dish with four supers and two of each were gone by the time I got home
Woohoo I know the feeling . Will he completely hold out if you only put cricket in ? Septiseye is such a bratt he will hold out . He now is eating them but not as many as I would like .

Yup, he holds out. Back when he first started declining crickets, he'd go down to the dish, grab a worm, and walk off with it, ignoring the crickets
