You guys are just teasing me now... I've gotta be at a family reunion type trip with the new wife's family that weekend... I knew there would be benefits to staying single. No more chasing cute girls at the shows like I did there last year (remember that, Matt???) LOL...

Before hand the little mis and I will be busy however after we are down for hang'n out with cham people... Kent knows the area... What say you good sir. Where is a good place for BS'n after?

Pfsh, don’t lie… You are going to have a GREAT time up in UT singing songs, doing plays, spending lots of quality alone time with the in-laws. Crud, forgot about all the girls though… Hmmm wonder if I really have to bring the wife?!?!?!? :p

I'm down too but I'm more of the laid-back beach bars kinda type. Not so sure about the downtown scene, that may indeed be more JC's arena.
 
yea, im with you on that one... After standing around all day talking about all sorts of reptiles we will want to go to a laid back place and relaxxxx...
 
I was having some problem getting the discount rate at the holiday in. so I contacted support but here is how to do it.

Choose your dates and enter RPS

$129 a night

Please enter the Group Code: RPS at the GROUP CODE field located at the left side of the screen, above the RATE PREFERENCES.

UPDATE : SING UP FOR PRIORITY CLUB THEN BOOK. ITS FREE AND SEEMS TO BE REQUIRED TO GET THE DISCOUNT RATE>

Hey Ryan.. I followed those directions, but when I click check availablity it just brings me back to the same page and does't give me any info on a room.:confused: When I call them they told me that the group rate for the show there was only for Friday night?
 
I just tried again for Friday and Sat night and see $129. it allows me to input my info to complete the reservation. I haven't tried to get past that.

Make sure you didn't accidental choose July. thats what I did the first time.
 
I was able to book friday and sat night 6/27 and 6/28 checking out the 29th for $129.

So I am booked , should work for you.

Okay.. Got it.. Had to sign up for the Priority Club and it worked fine. I think this will be where well stay just cause it is so close to the show.

I'm glad that this has taken off
but I was kinda thinking I could work out the deal by going down there in person
and perhaps get something better by handling it face to face vs phone call
since I live close to downtown it would have been easy.
whatever, it all work out. :)

Yes, there's going to be indoor concessions there at the show
plus quite a few places to eat/drink afterwards
(it's a tourist cluster down there on the weekends)

Also if you're going to be in town on the 26th there's a members expo for the San Diego Herp Society
some of the members are also going to be displaying there as well as the main show!
 
JC ... If you can work out a better rate for a group at the holiday inn let me know asap... I am always looking to save a buck. I haven't made any reservations yet so I will wait for you to let me know... But I definatley want to have things secured by next weekend. I am getting excited for this... Wish I could be there for the Herp Society Meeting but I have to work. :(
 
Yes Tyler, there is definitely going to be someone deeply dissappointed that you aren't there... and it isn't your customers!! Hahaha. Maybe we can call that one a dissatisfied customer? I haven't seen anything on the BOI about it though! Dodged a bullet there.

For those of you who are booze hounds. There is a bar right next door to the Concourse. Downtown Johnny Brown's. Having had drinks there several times, I can vouche that they're cold and reasonably priced. They have food too which is better and cheaper than what the show will have.
 
There's LOTS of good places to eat at uptown from the Holiday inn
The Hillcrest area north of downtown has MANY and varied places to eat
that won't break the bank.
Unlike the downtown sit down and dress & jacket eateries.

Both places have lots of walking traffic so wear the walking shoes.
Although there's many bars in both places ...
most may want to hit downtown for the nightlife.


ALso: I got word last night that the show is now sold out for all the vending booths.
170 booths sold!
(watch out anaheim!)

For those that know it'll be worth it to make that drive
even with the gas prices the way they are just to get the better
selection months ahead of the later shows.

Mike from FL Chams is going to be hanging out at my booth during the show. He is also going to be bringing some of his chams… So swing by the Tiki Tiki / Herp Mist booth now with special guest FL Mike…
