Hey all, my Cham is a Male. He has a strip light with 5.0 bulb. A Single other heat bulb too. temp is like 75-85 during the day. He doesn't seem to be eating, his dusted crix. I have had him for 2 years. he always seems to be sleeping, with his eyes closed all the time, and when he open's them in the corner of his eye near his nose he like flinches with his eye and it becomes a ball. Can anybody help. From my understanding adult veileds need a basking temp in the mid 90's. Dusting with calcium with d3 should only occur once a month, that could be your problem. Try using calcium with OUT d3 every day instead. Also try to mix up his meals with some hornworms or silkworms from time to time that could get him to eat better. Remember that chameleons are an arboreal species (they live in trees), the higher off the ground he is the more comfortable he will be. If you really haven't seen any fecal in a month or so it would probably be a good time for a vet visit.

Also what kind of 5.0 bulb are you using, repti-sun or repti-glo? and when was the last time it was changed.

& What kind of plants are you using in his enclosure? It seems there are more plants that are toxic than there are safe.

You said he has a "strip bulb" make sure you have a reptisun 5.0 linear bulb
not a compact UBV. IMO he looks slightly dehydrated you should try to shower him too and up the mistings you do. Maybe incorporate more feeders for him i suggest dubia's, hornworms, silkworms.

And what does his feces look like?

First off :) I got a Vet for him, and his appointment is Monday. ReptiSun 5.0 Light in there. For Live plants I have a Pothos, and a plant that I forgot the name to. The other plants are Fake.
