quadricornis hatchling photos

Thanks everyone! I've been away from the forums for a while, not taking many photos either. It's been a bit of a difficult year for my wife and I, as it was for many others I'm sure. It's nice to come back with something to show. I'll try to lurk around a little more often.

I knew I was missing one. Here's a brief moment when he turned a bright green. Amazing to see color changes before they're even fully hatched.

Thanks again for all the kind comments.

Beautiful! (But you don't need me to tell you that:rolleyes:) Every time I see a in-the-act-of-hatching picture, it amazes me that they manage to fit in those eggs - must be pretty cramped by the end!

How's the babe doing?

How's the little one doing? Have you seen it drink or eat yet? You have to know that we are going to bug you for updates!

Superb photos! Like your use of lighting and gentle flash.

And congrats on the little guy. Best wishes.

Thanks again everyone!

Catherine, I have seen him drink, but not eat. Offered crickets yesteday and I'm pretty sure they were all ignored. He seems to be pretty healthy! :D

Yoda is firing up near the front of the cage. I could swear he's jealous, I haven't seen Yoda fire up for no reason in months.

Yoda :)

That is surprising about Yoda. I would think he would view the little on as a snack! My little Uthmoelleri babies took a little longer to finally eat than my Veileds and Panthers did. I was a wreck waiting to see them eat. I actually saw real doo doos before I saw them eat in front of me. Let us know when you see he/she eat :) Catherine

Congrats on the little guy.. good luck with him... keep him well hydrated and offer him some fruit flies, we experienced that these guys did very well for the first few days / weeks on them and also a few pinhead crickets but the fruit flies were easier and better for them and even some of the pinheads were too big.. keep him well fed... crucial at this young age..

Keep us updated on his progress.. we also have a new hatchling from a clutch that we didn't think was going to make it. He will be one week old on Tuesday, little guy though, still so young and too early to tell if he will make it but keeping our fingers crossed.

Michelle

Thanks Michelle! I appreciate the advice. I'll be trying pinheads again tomorrow while I wait for a fruit fly delivery.

WOW! Very very nice pictures. The little arms and feet look translucent in one picture, with all the light.

Your photography never ceases to amaze me, thank you so much for keeping me interested in it!

Sounds like a good plan........

Sounds like Josh gave you some great advise. That's why this forum is so priceless. The ability to get help from someone who has done what you are trying to do is priceless....
