Hey guys, just got what looks to me like about a 1 month old blue barred ambilobe and he appears a very dark brownish i guess you could say. Was wondering if this was normal, as i've heard it takes a couple months for them to get there colors in

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Yes, panthers will not usually start showing their colors for at least a couple months of age, and most don't get lost of color until about 6 months. So it's perfectly normal for your baby panther to be just tans and browns right now.

That's a very small panther to get, most breeders will not sell them until age 2.5-3 months. They are still very delicate that little.

I am not completely sure about the age to be completely honest, so if what your saying is correct then he is probably definetly 2.5 months old for sure. Still a really tiny guy, just wanted to make sure there were no problems because i know a veiled chameleon shows green right away, even as babies
