Question about FLChams

I'm interested in getting a male veiled chameleon and had several people mention FLChams as the place to go but I have called 4 times, left a message once, sent an email also. No response now and its been over a month since I started trying to contact them. I see they are still posting ads on other sites.

Are they just another vendor that wants to post internet ads and sell the animals without having to ever deal with their customers?

I've raised other reptiles for the past 15 to 20 years but I'm new to chameleons and have a couple questions before I will order.

Any other veiled breeders out there that have time to answer a couple quick questions that you would recommend?

I know a breeder for them, owns a shop in northeastern PA. He deals direct, cheaper, and has awesome Chams. His name is Craig Long owns total e chams, his number is 724-397-8434.

I had the exact same experience with them...never got a reply. Regardless of the good words I have heard about them, I am not ordering from a place I cannot reliably get in touch with. Good luck, I am still lurking and working on my list of items. I also need to sort out my mini bug farm. ;)
 
I got my daughters veiled from them in December . I contacted by email and the owner gave me his cell number. Granted I live very close but I exchanged texts over a few week period and always got a response. That's my limited experience but he hand delivered my veiled to me and I was pleased with the experience.
 
I wrote an email to them and got an answer right away... Though I found out they never answer the phone on weekends. :(

Also, I have to warn you about the way these chams are handled by UPS. The guy who delivered my chameleon threw her box onto the front porch... I'm not sure how you can miss all the "fragile", "perishable", and "handle with care" stickers. (The guy got yelled at:cool:)

Just as an FYI: Having worked at the UPS hub here in Louisville and at the FedEx sort here, I can tell you that stickers on a box doesn't mean a thing. This end up? Yeah..I have seen them upside down.

Loaders don't look at any sticker but one and that's the address where it's going. Packages get dropped all the time. And on the conveyor belt, when it transitions to another belt, sometimes the boxes, if they are light enough, will tumble there until another box or person moves it along.

So, the carrier doesn't matter...they all do it.

He has veileds and panthers, he had some nice translucent veiled babies last month. I'll be seeing him Sunday so I could give an update if anyone wanted.

Does he have a site or a facebook page? Tried searching didn't find anything...Looks like hes only a 2hr drive(I think), I'll most likely be ready in approx 2-3mo. Looking for a panther...much appreciated if you can find anything out, thx!
 
I'll ask Sunday, I don't believe he does though. I got one of my males from him and he's awesome. Very tame from the day I got him. He sells at all ages from juvenile to adult.

Were you ever able to check on his inventory?
 
Yes I was out of everything he brought to the show. A bunch of different panthers, sub adults mostly and a lot of veiled babies, and translucent babies.
