Question about Veiled Chameleon

I know that I received an answer to this earlier, but my buddy (who has never owned a chameleon) insists that some female veiled chameleons can have the "bumps", or "spurs", on their hind legs just as mine does. Can I rest assured that the pictures that I have taken provide definitive proof that my baby veiled is a boy? Or is it possible that he is correct? If he is, I'd like to know so I can visit the pet store and snag a male before they're gone.

While yes on rare occasions a female will have the bumps on the feet, however, thats normally because the female is a hermaphrodite (yes it can happen in chams) and its very rare to see.

Its a male... positive.

Thanks for the reassurance! Now a question pertaining to supplements. I've been doing a lot of reading and what I've gathered is that you need 3 kinds of supplements: Pure calcium; Calcium w/ D3; Multivitamins. I purchased Zoo Med's Repivite Reptile Vitamins w/ D3. I've been trying to lightly powder all the crickets (usually between 6-10) at both morning and afternoon feedings. Is this too much? I've read that D3 and multivitamins should only be given twice a month. Is this one supplement enough to cover all basis, or just the Calcium w/ D3 and multivitamin supplementation? I've read that some people recommend Repashy Calcium Plus. I would be awesome to hear some experienced input so I can get all this squared away and start my little guy on a schedule. As always, I am sincerely appreciative of all the input and advice!

watch where you are dusting, you can get stuff in his eye. If you are worried about over dusting or not wanting to spend 20 mins catching crickets I suggest using a Repcal Cricket Duster

I have been using one for many years evenly coats crickets.

maybe you can get one cheaper but that's not bad of a price.

I have a cricket container that has the 4 built in tubes so I can get them out easily. Should I go out and buy the multivitamins, Calcium w/ D3, and Calcium w/o D3 individually? Or is there an all in one that I can give every, or everyother, day?

Hi, again, everyone. I was wondering if anyone could give me an approximate age of my little guy from the photos I uploaded. I know that chameleons grow at different rates, but a rough guesstimate will be enough. Does 2 months seem about right?

Great idea. I have one and really like it. I keep my crickets in a large plastic tub and then into a top screened glass enclosure with paper towel tubes. I just grab a tube and shake it into my cricket dusting container and they are perfectly lightly coated. I use Repashy All in One Calcium Plus. For me it is easier then using the 3 different supplements.
