They are fine, I use them in some of setups. As long as they are properly treated. They are actually very common.

wash it with water and soap, rinse it several times really really well. some people say bake it in the over at like 400 degrees fahreheit for a half an hour to kill any bugs others say thats over kill so whatever you decide

Yeah I baked all my branches before but I learned that it is a little overkill, but hey, it doesn't hurt!

I would just rinse them.

Also chameleons are able to eat grapes too so I'm sure the vines are fine
