I have a 3.5 month old veiled cham. and I was wondering about getting hornworms. Can anybody answer some questions.

What size is the best for that age?

How many should I feed him?

With or without crickets?

Should I cut off the horn?

Buy them small, they grow very fast, keep them 'cool', like 68-72*F to slow them down. can even cycle them in the fridge for a day and leave them out for a day to keep them from growing fast. Keep them at 80* if you want them to be full grown in a week.

You can feed him a couple of 1"-1.5" worms a day.... but mix in a few crickets.

The 'horn' isn't a horn like a bull or jackson chameleon. It is just a soft red 'horn' shaped spike on the rear of them, it is harmless even on full grown hornworms.
