R/O vs Distilled

Didn't wanna make a thread and ask that, when the topic of clogged nozzles was already on hand in this thread. May have been an off-topic question though.... My apologies
No I thought I was answering your other thread, but landed on this one. Sorry for any confusion.

As far as the nozzles getting plugged.... Do ya'll still add ReptiSafe to your distilled / RO water in your misting systems? Or will reptisafe add residue that will clog your nozzles over time too? I know that it adds a bit of calcium back into the water, and also de-chlorinates it.... So that is for sure some minerals of some sort. But will it added to the misting water, clog the nozzles?
You won't need Reptisafe with R.O. because anything that could be harmful will be filtered out.

Haha so many threads on this site. There should be some moderators that periodically go through them and delete the super old / outdated ones to clear up search results a little better. And if a thread contains info or questions that most people tend to ask, those should be pinned and on a list for people to see so that way people don't ask the same questions over and over. I'm sure we are all guilty of asking a question that has already been asked and answered before - It would just be super nice to have a thread about food types sticky-pinned. A thread about misting systems. One about different kinds of water. Supplements. Health issues.... So many things. Lots of really really good info on this site; sometimes you just gotta do a little digging to find it.

Wasn't so much as worried about harmful stuff getting destroyed by adding ReptiSafe.... I was worried that maybe RO/distilled water would be TOO pure, and I know that Reptisafe helps add a bit of essential stuff back into the water. But if the insects are gutloaded pretty good and dusted, I wouldn't see why pure RO/distilled in a mister would be an issue because they'd be getting the missing nutrients from their food.

Thanks :)

This topic is a bit harder to "pin" as there are a lot of variables with each keeper's water situation. If someone searches on the whole safe water topic they'll find different answers reflecting everyone's opinion on their own tap water. What might be technically safe for the cham to drink could still clog mister nozzles and ultrasonics. What might be safe for YOU to drink might still cause problems for a cham (chloramines). Anyway, the point is, you can use distilled or RO filtered water in those systems with very little if any clogging. Of course this assumes you do clean out the entire system occasionally. No getting away from that over the long term.
