RainDome?

I'm collecting everything I need for my chameleon habitat and am trying to find the best watering system. By some (bad) advice from a coworker at the petshop that I work at I bought a Habba mister. After some online research I've learned that the Habba seems to be the WORST. So I've heard some great things about the RainDome. Is it a system that I can use ALONE or do I need any extra watering systems to keep the chameleons habitat damp enough?
Any tips or pointers are appreciated :)

If your looking for suggestings mist king is really good.....yes it should be fine if if you time it. Keeping a hand mister on hand is always good :D

well I've heard great things about the Mistking and the RainDome so now it's just a case of which one do people prefer for their chams? I'll definitely be purchasing a hand mister as well!

I'm looking onto the exact same thing myself currently. Here's a summary of what I've seen so far. There are a couple things to consider.

1) Do I want "rain" falling from the top of my cage from an outside unit or do I want mist sprayed into the cage from nozzles mounted in the cage? For me, my chameleon seems to despise being misted, even with warm water. I'd rather not even have to consider overspray out of the enclosure from misting, even if it's not a big problem. I'm thinking rain.

2) MistKing or AquaZamp? Both have a setup with misting nozzles. AquaZamp also has Raindome based systems (rather than misters), and standalone Raindomes that apparently could be added to MistKing systems. Both systems have rave reviews all over these forums. AquaZamp is located in California where I am and are made in the USA, so I'm personally leaning that direction.

Other have also made their own raindomes for modifying a mister based system, there are examples on the form, just search for raindome.

Any of these options would take care of your watering needs entirely and in an automated fashion if used with a timer.

im using a raindome and love it. I did my research when i first started and i found out you cant go wrong with mistking or raindome. In the end getting a more natural rain over my setup won. The customer service you get from Kevin Zamp is awesome as well.

And just to clarify, the Raindome is a product from Aquazamp. I personally have this setup and it's wonderful. The natural "rain" falling from the top stimulates the chams natural drinking habits. The fact that the AZ is American-made also played into my decision to go with this product.

Have both, use both. IMO you don't "need" another watering system on your cages if you are using a raindome with enough watering times and min per day. I really like the 2-3 nozzle raindomes when looking at larger size cages, I think I have 8 of them currently.

the natural rain sounds excellent. I know our chameleons at the store always hated getting misted so I really want to avoid misting if I can. The American made bit is a nice perk :)

Also which system to buy on AquaZamp? They seem to give several different options but am unsure of which one would be the best option for my (future) cham.

I have been deciding between the two as well. Money may play a part in my decision though. One is $50.00 more and you don't get the timer with the price or I did not see where it was included :(. Although I may just bite the bullet and spend the extra to get what I really want.

I have emailed both sites and both have excellent customer service and have answered me very promptly. Still undecided but one thing I do know is it will be aquazamp or mist king. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

I am a big big fan of the AZ timers. ;)
