Red Heating lights????

Hey guys!

My mom came home today with a 100Watt Red heat light (she is trying to spoil little Fran just as much as i am  )

Should I be using it??? Because ever since i have started using it (3 days ago) my little lady has LOVED being at the top of her enclosure! im sure its bumping the temps up at least 3-5 degrees (it was 75-80 trying to cut back on her egg laying as much as possible)

Just curious! She doesn't seem to mind it at night at all maybe because she is a heavy heavy sleeper but it would be nice to know if its doing more good than bad or vice versa. She is actually Sleeping next to it right now and she is sleeping like a little baby!!

I know most people frown on the use of the red heat lamp but I use one with my veiled. He has had it since the first day I got it and sleeps like a rock with it. When the weather got cold and before we started up the heater in the house he would be up under it in the morning before his day lights came on. My opinion, if your Cham isn't bugged by it then there is no harm to using it. Although, my Cham is not female so the temp raising egg production might want to be considered as well.

If it drops below 68 in your house at night I would recommend the ceramic bulb instead of the red one. They need to be cool and dark at night with a 10 degrees drop in temps.
