Reptibreeze 4x2x2

buy a 100cm tall pothos or schefflera or other, stick it in the middle and add branches and ziptie them to the plant or eacthother and get dragon ledges or do a mod of your own

as for the sides you can get air plants or spanish moss or whatever and then tie it to the side of your cage with fishing line

Love the umbrella plant
Which one?

The common name umbrella plant can refer to several unrelated species:

Trying to make sense of it all, I just resurrected this thread:

How on earth can you plant a bio active, or even a general plant set up?

This is probably sacrilege but I discourage folks from doing bioactive for chameleons. It can definitely be done well if you're willing to do the work and some reptile experience helps. Building and maintaining the drainage layer, substrate, colonies of microfauna etc add layers of complexity and variables most people won't want to mess with. There are some products marketed for cham bioactive setups like Biodude's biobag but it's inevitable you're going to end up with feeders and microfauna getting out of the cage - they're not going to infest your house but a landlord or spouse might not take kindly to that.

It seems to be a lot of work for minimal benefit for the chams. Bioactive has become a kind of buzz word or marketing gimmick that is really good for selling you more products. There are situations where it is basically a requirement - like dart frogs or similar critters. I know it's popular now to set up an instagram or youtube-ready "slice of rainforest" but again, I think demonstrable benefits for the chams is lagging behind a marketing and social media push. Chams are delicate enough and especially for new cham keepers it doesn't seem worth it IMO to add more complexity. Just my two cents.

I've just noticed a LIGHT CANOPY on the Reptibreeze box. Id to get rid of my 2 exo terra canopy boxes as the lights were incorrect. Can a canopy box be used for the 4x2x2 cage?

Did you buy the chameleon kit? or just the cage? can we see pics of the canopy?

I'm thinking of buying as it's only £104! Really cheap compared to the Exo Terra at £225. I'm not planning on using it for several months as I need to get the use out of my brand new Exo Terra viv. Just store it in the shed

If Im honest the decor puts me off... Big time. Getting it kitted out. I couldn't do a planted base like I've done before. Pity

Be sure not to buy the chameleon kit that comes with the double dome and the fake plants and all the stuff that you don't need. Buy the cage alone
