Reptile Super Show - San Diego - June 26-27

So far with our group includes

Ryan, Lisa, Chad, Darci, Nate, Phil, Joe, Cassie, and quite a few others. Its not just the few who don't like Outback this time. So Yard House IMO is OUT! as well. I don't care if they have beer or whatever. I don't drink so.... THEY SUCK doesn't have to be outback but....

Good news is there will probably be two groups anyway this year.

I think what would really be cool would be to hit up somewhere that is unique to SD. There is an endless selection of amazing places!

Kent , have any ideas?

Look how inviting it is.

This picture actually made me hungry... hmmmm

Can't go wrong with Claim Jumper.... If nothing else, it's twice the portion size as Outback at the same price. That's where we'll be. I'm tired of paying $15-20 for a full slab of ribs that come out 3" long each. We ate at Outback in Pomona with the Global Captive Breeder guys, and that's exactly what it was; 3" ribs that I was still hungry after. Might just be my wife and I at CJ, but I'm ok with that.

Trop Elos isn't going.... That vendors list convienently only grows, never gets smaller when vendors don't come back LOL. Hard to ever know who is really going to be there.

Tortoise Sullpy will be there, however. Looks like Bluebeast Reptile will be too!

Ah that makes sense then...

Can't wait to buy some Sullpies from Tortoise Sullpy!

The San Diego Reptile show is within walking distance of the Gaslamp that has tons of restuarants.

Also Downtown Johnny Brown's is a very good local burger and brew place right in to the San Diego Concourse (it's literally a couple of hundred feet from the show). The food's pretty good and it has a terrific selection of microbrews, including numerous offerings from San Diego's breweries. The only downside is that it may be overrun by the show's attendees given its close proximity.

Life's too short for uninspired corporate restaurant faire, so if they're a specific cuisine that you want I would be glad to recommend places in the Gaslamp district.

Does that mean we made a new SD friend and you will be joining us?

I think wanker makes an excellent point. Unfortunately, I'm most familiar with places local to me as we gnenerally try to avoid the crowds of downtown.

If anyone wants to do Mexican there's an excellent place (with seafood) in Shelter Island called Miguel's. They're owned by the Brigantine which is well known here. Excellent dip. Great lobster dishes....

That sounds good, I trust you to pick a place 100%. mmmmmmm dip. Crap I am hungry

Blwech @ CJ, I turn down free meals from that place! I do indeed like the idea of a local place, mexican I don't really feel like, however that may be because I have a bag of taco bell next to me :p. Looking forward to the show though! Only 2 weeks away!
