Rescue Baby Panthers???

Alright so I just left my local pet shop that ends with a CO. They currently have 2 Panthers roughly an inch long STV. The Panthers are being kept in the same enclosure as some Jacksons about 4"-5" STV and some Veileds around 3" STV.

The 2 Panthers (female and possible male) are looking pretty bad. Severely malnourished and dehydrated. The female worse than than the male. The bones in here legs, ribs and tail are all clearly visible. To the point where you can just about count each tail bone. Now the male looks a bit better but not by much. The little guy was sleeping and could barely hold onto the twig he was on.

Really debating going back there and speaking with the manager to work out a deal for me to take these two little ones. Just to try and give them at least a chance to survive. But honestly I feel it might be to late for at least the female.

Now I personally have dealt with malnourishment with BPs, a few beardeds, a savannah, and a gator. I understand what needs to be done and the effort that is going to be required. But i've never dealt with this in an animal this small. Is there any pointers you can give me?

Obviously re hydrating is gonna be the main goal. Don't feel comfortable soaking. If i could rig up a small tub that will drain quick then up some paper towel and something for them to climb on. Then have a screen on top to help dissipate the water and place them in the shower with luke warm water running. Will that be the safest way to do so?

This is sooo sad :( I hate when I see people not caring for animals properly. Sorry I cannot give you any advice on that, hopefully it does all work out though

Yeah its really heart breaking. And for this to have been such an easy thing to prevent in the first place. I mean how hard is it to just put up a divider? Instead they mix these guys together and think theyll coexist. I know at least one other panther was killed by one of the Jacksons.

Im just really trying to think this all through before I jump in. Also with the shelter there right now the place was so pack I felt it would be best to wait till closer to closing when its not so busy. And to try and get some ideas in the meantime.

I'm not sure if the shower method would work if they can't hold on to a plant and are to small- eye dropper ?
I re read your post - you might be able to rig something up- the way you discribed it - the fog and the mist I think are what you want - I'm no expert

Some wont learn unless properly instructed. When I can I want to run an educational Mobil zoo and go to all these major companies and put on a seminar to teach the employees ow to properly take care of all these reptiles. Also want to do this seminar for kids and everything.

But also these companies don't care about the animals. Whatever makes them money, makes them happy. So sorry to hear about the little guys though, makes me sick!

Chamlady thats a great idea. There needs to be something set in place so they have a better understanding of these animals.

Even if they had a system set up to were they had different levels/stages of what they could order and what not. Say someone comes out and does a basic training and after completion they were allowed to carry BPs, Beardeds, ect. Then they could have an advanced training if they wanted to carry a larger selection. Followed by an expert training course which would allow them to carry all animals.

I think with something like that in place all of these animals would be better off.

Funny, I was just there today. They have 2 male panthers, specific age unknown. Roughly 6-8 months. This guy was drinking from the standing water that had a ton of substrate in it. I've been going there to check on these guys for about 3 months now. I've never seen anything as far as food goes except tiny mealworms. :-(
