Hey-Hey-Hey-heeey! ;)
Hello! My name is Mary and I live in Moscow. In the house I keep a lot of reptiles, but today I want to tell you about my pet, who appeared recently. This Yemen chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptatus), a male and he is 1 year old. It's a bit sad story, because it describes the inattention and irresponsibility sellers zoo shops. :(
A month ago I saw an ad on the forum to help a chameleon. In the announcement was written that is given year-old at a pet store chameleon in "good hands" and another was told that he had problems with his health. Without hesitation, I drove to pick up the poor fellow. Chameleon did look awful! He was dehydrated rusty color, and he was strongly swelled back leg. Chameleon difficulty walking.
I brought him home and put him in quarantine terrarium.

So it looks like when just arrived to me.

The next morning I called the Moscow Zoo, in the terrarium, veterinary medicine-herpetology. Doctor appointed chameleon injections, and a few days later we went to see him.
After seeing the vet, it became clear that the foot will never be as before. Inattentive sellers do not see the time, that the chameleonby was bitten the leg another chameleon. And inflammation of the poor. Just as he had damaged knee. All threatens to turn back legs amputated. Us was prescribed a lot of injections, ointments and medicines. The treatment was a very big one. We still do prescribed injections. But good results can already be seen! :)

My chameleon now.

Thanks! :)
The only pity is that the leg is not fully recovered ... He still had a lot of problems, but we do well!
Now one of the big issues - the tail. Sellers do not carefully taken out of the chameleon terrarium and damaged the tip of the tail, which he clung to the branches. Now he can not completely twist the tail. The doctor said that there is a possibility that the chameleon can lose the damaged part of the tail ... But I hope that in the end everything will be fine! :)

It sounds like things are going well for you, very well done :)
He's a lucky chameleon.....

Welcome Mary, you need to be commended for doing a great job of taking care of that chameleon, he looks beautiful and healthy, and although he still has several issues you seem to be very dedicated in seeing this recovery through....I applaud you and thank you for saving that boy......what is his name and I hope we see many more pictures of him on here, we all love seeing photos of these incredible creatures.

You have done a great job so far with him and I'm sure you will continue to do so! So glad to hear happy endings to sad stories.

Thank you all for your support! :) I'll give these words my boy :D I think that now he has to get well to 100%! )))
Yesterday we made the last injection and today is the last times they drank medicament ;)

Kate, to happiness managed to save his leg. But, unfortunately, it can never work properly :( But chameleon brave and strong boy! He copes well ;)

Good morning to all! :)
Chameleon decided today to start exuviate :D
Today at breakfasthe had eaten a lot of oranges and bananas. The boy has a very good appetite! And this is good, a good appetite - sign of a healthy animal :p

He simply a small guttler! :D Surprising that he loves cucumbers. Once, when I was preparing vegetable salad for my Agamas, he ran down the arm from my shoulder to the table, and just pulled off a piece of cucumber right out of dish! I've never seen anyone so fond of cucumbers! О_о
But unfortunately, a lot of this vegetable animals can not, because it can be very harmful :(

Thanks for the information! I will certainly read it ;)

Congratulations and kudos to you for rescuing this handsome chameleon! He is looking very happy with you :) It is great to know that there are people all over this world with big hearts who open their homes to animals in need :)

I'm so glad he kept his leg. It's amazing how they adapt. Lovely pics, almost looks like he is smiling :)

What a beautiful boy! He's very lucky to have you. =) He looks a lot like Camimom's cham, Kink (who I'm getting a baby from soon)!
