I am sorry in advance for not filling out the form. I could not find it. I have been reading everything on this site for quite some time and I think I can be a good person to take on this girl. I found her through a posting on craigslist. Person surrendering her got overwhemed by her condition. He had taken her to a vet for eye issues. According to him the vet concluded MBD and low vitamin A. Well,,,,, she is completely blind. The guy said that he used all of the eye drops on her and has been force feeding her carnivore diet prescibed by vet. I have rinsed her eyes eith saline solution and they are completely shut lacking any normal eye bulge. they are sunken in. I also smashed a bug and put it in the carivor diet. she came to me complete with habitat. Its a tank.. ugh! I put her into a reptibreeze right away. if any one can give me some pointers/advice to give her a quality life I will be so grateful. I have a two year Veiled totally healthy from day One so I have experince with chammies. thanks Sherry

Hi Sherry, here is the form https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/. If she is blind I am assuming she cannot climb around as she cannot see what to grip onto? I would take the reptibreeze and turn it on its side so she is not too high up incase she falls. I did not see your set up, so I guess I should wait to see how you have it. Can you post a pic of her also. How do you know for certain she is blind??? I have a friend who had a female veild also. Her eyes wer closed and sunken in also. Not completely but not full and round like they should have been. Well, she got her out in the sun and started taking care of her properly and one day she opened her eyes and could see! We know she could see because when she put her hand in the cage she would lunge and try to bite it! I am not saying this will happen for you, but maybe there is hope. Good of you to take on a cham with such special needs. Can you post some pics of her and the set up you have her in???

Type of chameleon: veiled female
age: not sure
suppliments: multi vitamin, calcium w/o D
food: carnivore diet
habitat: 16x16x30 reptibreeze turned sideways
lighting: Double dome with spriral uvb and basking bulb 50 watt
water: warm shower mist, spray bottle, dripper
area habitat is kept: bedroom
temps: 90 in basking area, house is kept at 70 to 72
problem: i believe she is blind. Eyes dont open. I have used saline spray. I have to force feed by prying her mouth open. she will drink water by following the drips of the dripper. I plan to get rid of the spriral and get tube for uvb. I would like any experiences and recomendations to make her life comfortable. i rescued her last night. She has been to vet by the boy who had her. Vet says mbd And low vitamin A. Will I be able to help her see again?
