Resting Colors

So I'm new to chams and reptiles in general and I'm giving myself a few months to research and gather information on chams before I purchase one and get into the hobby and I have many unanswered questions and was wondering if you guys can help .
1) About when is it normal for veiled chams to start developing their regular resting colors ?
2) the area I live in doesn't seem to have many reptile stores that have chams . The stores around me are all big chains like petco or petsmart . Is this a good idea ?... I know for saltwater fish this is a big no no . And was wondering if this applies here as well. Thanks

Yup just like with saltwater, avoid them for reptiles. Why not order one from a breeder online? I'm not sure about veiled's colors, i'm a panther guy. Anyway sounds like you'll be a good cham owner, good luck

Thanks a lot man, I know of one store Kinda far but it'll be worth heading over there for a look. I wasn't too sure if ordering from a breeder was that great of an idea but I'll definitely check that out too. Does ordering your cham usually come out good as planned ?

I think ordering from a reputable breeder is better than any chain store purchase because by the time they have spent any time in a chain store display they are already suffering the effects of stress and probably poor husbandry. There are many good breeders that are forum members. What you will pay in shipping you will save in vet bills.

In my area a good breeder is FlChams so I think I'm going to go with them . Thanks for the help guys!
