I will strongly agree that that looks like MBD. Chameleons tend to sit in that position, and I don't think I've seen any of mine look rubbery like that, in any position. Clearly it isn't YOUR fault, since you just got him, but I would second guess the breeder. Also, as Royden suggested, take some more photos from different angles. It looks like a clear cut case to me, and a needed trip to the vet.

Both on the right side, show us the left and I bet they look the same. This animal should be taken back by the breeder and you should get another one - one that is healthy with straight legs and arms!

He's asleep right now so I'll take more pictures tomorrow. Will try and get both sides without having to disturb him. Will also see about a vet consultation.

It's quite easy to tell in your picture that there are some major problems in the bone structures. I don't see how a simple point and shoot camera angles can create such illusion.
The fact is you need to either go to a vet (if you have bonded with Rex and don't want another veiled but him) or told the breeder and ask for a replacement.
I don't think it's fair for you to get a sick chameleon to start with.
I don't see how a perfectly healthy chameleon can develop such case of MBD in a matter of a day or two.
He must have MBD way before you get him.
He probably fell one day and broke his legs.
A normal chameleon will probably be fine under such trauma. But, not so for a chameleon with MBD.

I don't mean to sound funny and sorry if I do but if he's been getting UV, calcium and multivitamin what would cause the MBD? I read somewhere, can't find it now I think about a problem with the liver that can cause it?

Did you read Dr. Wheelock's article that I linked (this forum also has the link under health clinic forum)? he pretty much summed everything up.
Again, the problem could be from your breeder. not yours.
You need vit D3 especially. I have read in your posts that your breeder kind of ambiguous about the D3, right? (correct me if i am wrong)

Not to mention that if the UV bulb being used was older than six months, the little guy may not have been getting ANY benefit from it at all. All sorts of things could have contributed to this, none of them your fault.

You should really have a heart to heart with the breeder though, she sold you a damaged chameleon . Please do get some photos of his other side as well.

This makes it very obvious this chams is suffering from MBD. Could be the angle but his casque even looks bowed.

To the OP MBD is not something that can happen overnight so its not your fault...as far as what to do next IMO see a good herp vet.....do not return it into the care of the person who sold it to you.
