I was cleaning out my leachie's enclosure and thought I might as well take some pictures. I am leaning towards "he" being a female but I'm still not sure at this point. If it turns out being male then his name will be Buddha (they get big ...ok!) and if he turns out being a she then I'm going for Lily (Lily Pad). Aren't I super with names?!

Hatch date is 12/19/12 for he/she and I got him/her in February. She is a Pine Isle E x Nuu Ana mix. And here are the pics!

No it's a ciliates but I think it's boy bits would be similar if not bigger.lol

They do have a big bulge, much like the ciliatus. However, just like the ciliatus, it takes a while to be able to notice the bulge.

I am unsure of this, which is why I am asking, do they have pores like the ciliatus?

Yes, they do show a line of pores when male. Both males and females do have a slight bulge so at this age it's harder to sex them. I'm guessing female as I'm not seeing pores at this point.

Good lookin leach. You should be able to sex it now. They say not until close to adults but get a magnifying glass and look for the row of pores. Very small but blatant. They go through huge growth spurts. its like one day its small then the next its much bigger..then it seems they stay that size until the next spurt.

Edit: I still have to figure out how to distinguish all the locales.. nuu ana to a isle E just from a noobs eye. They look the same to me.

When I first got her she was so tiny and now actually looks a little like something at about 8-10 grams depending on what my scale thinks I can't really distinguish the locales either unless there's an obvious difference or unless I'm looking at Leapin Leachies site lol. The bigger the better in my mind!

My big boys set up is at head height and at night he will ambush the front of the cage when he sees me. He literally bashes his head and bites at the cage towards me. Even though i dont handle him when he acts like this, i do handle him almost every night and he has never tried to bite ( I SURE HOPE HE NEVER does TOO)..Me thinks he has multiple personality disorder.
