Hi everyone, my veiled male (Glenn) suddenly started to roam extremely. Bottom to upper parts, left to right. Scratching on glass walls, etc.. I'm a bit worried and because I don't wanna loose him, I decided to post here in this great community!
My ideas:
1, the cage is too small suddenly - probably is and I would like to get him bigger new enclosure asap, but is this the reason for roaming?
2, Two weeks ago I started to feed him every other day as suggested in care sheets. Is it possible that he's hungry, when he suddenly started to get food less than he was used to?
Also look at the photos and tell me whatever you like to tell. Does he seems alright to you? Whatever. I will be very happy for every comment and check
I have also one other question. He refuses to take crickets from my hand, but with the little grasshoppers he has no problem at all! Why?
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled, male, a bit over 7 months old.
Handling - Very rarely. He does not like it very much (but we are trying hand feeding now and it's going well).
Feeding - Crickets and now even smaller grasshoppers. They are fed mostly apples.
Supplements - He gets Calcium + D3 like 6 times a month, pure calcium like 15 times and multivitamin once a month. I know it's not as suggested in care sheets and I will re-do the plan!
Watering - I hand mist him twice or more a day.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Terarium 40x50x60 - I would like to get him bigger one as soon as possible.
Lighting - Zoo Med ReptiSun 5.0, exo tera reptile vision 13W, 60watt heat lamp
Temperature - 28-32C (82-90F) in his basking, 19-22C (66-72F) in the bottom.
Humidity - 35-50 for most of the day, spikes when misting.
Plants - He has a only fake plants now. But in the new cage I am planning to get some life!
Placement - He’s in my room. No traffic, no direct sunlight.
Location - Central Europe
PS: All photos are fresh, but the last one, which is about a month old.
I'm looking forward to your advice!
Thank you very much.
Lukas
