Rostral split

Is it me or do nosy Be's have a bigger split than the other locales of panther or is it just me as my Ambilobe's don't seem to have the split v shape at the end of the rostral compared to my others can anybody clarify

Yes there are differences in the locals, my mitsio rostral is also quite small but my faly's is very long an has a slight split, it's a good way to tell the local of females aswell as the patterns, you look at a female faly's pattern compered to other females locals and you can see the difference, this doesn't always work to find out the female local but does give you a indication

I thought as much lol nice one Kev, I thought it was like a bit ov evolving as when my mistking is on he just catches the water running down his rostral and licks it all up( this the same for my 3 nosy Be's ) the rest drink of leaves and the top ov the cage.

I've defiantly seen differences in the rostral and also with my faly in the curve to the top of there head it seems shorter than a lot of locals, it might just be be but I'm certain that there are some slight difrences in some locals

Theres some debate over this... One big breeder here in the US who has probably seen more pardalis than anyone outside of maddy, says its not a factor at all in determining locale...

To me it always seemed ambanja have the longest rostrals of any local but thats just by the pics i have seen... The only real way to tell is knowing their origin and looking at the colors(which still can be fluky)
