Sambava?!

it shouldn't slow it down too much. Id like to say female. If it is female you will never really know the exact locale unless you can hunt down the original source or breed it to a pure sambava and grow out the babies. Your talking at least 2 years to know for sure.

Yea the tail on it doesn't seem to be slowing it down at all. It's been moving around the enclosure drinking, eating crickets.

I'll try to get better up close pics of the tail area in a few days. Don't want to stress it out anymore then it already is lol.

It is ALMOST impossible to tell when their that young, however, I have seen quite a few Sambava babies and your lil dude is definitely displaying some similar markings. We shall see!!!

Well, it doesnt have a U-bar (which would make it morw likely to be a samabava, but not always) but it is possible for them to have Y bars like yours. You will need to ask the breeder to know for sure.

just curious how you can determine that it is a girl without looking at the vent area? color means nothing at this age.

I was wondering the same thing. Mainly cuz I've never had to sex panthers and I thought it would be a bit before we could tell... Idk lol. Not that it truly matters to me at this point.

I didn't look at the colours. There are many other traits that make sexing baby panthers a little easier. Based on the additional pictures though, I'm pretty certain that's what you've got.
