Saying Goodbye.

Hold on.....scorpion  ? Stay strong!

Haha yep! ? Turns out that the dude that runs the little bioactive pet store breeds cresties and various scorpions! Didn't imagine myself getting into scorpions, but here I am with an itty bitty baby centuroides gracilis (brown bark scorpion). It's a pretty spicy little thing. Named it Capsicum.

And a picture of Dandelion the crestie, cause I'm sharing my new littles anyway!

There beautiful!!!!

Hope you enjoy the creative and the scorpion too! Hopefully it will keep your mind busy. I'm sure that you will miss Lily for a long time...but she will stay in your heart. Yo (a chameleon I had over 30 years ago) is still in mine.

Thanks Lynda! Definitely keeping me occupied. I do best when kept busy. Funnily enough, it's the scorpion that's eating a ton of money right now! I want to build it a nice custom background with styrofoam and grout, but the project rapidly spun out of control. Now I have tools for days, and clearly need to find more projects to rationalize buying them! ? I wonder if the bio pet store would be interested in having me do up a few of their display tanks?

Lily holds a special place in my heart with Karma, and won't be forgotten any time soon. Karma was still in the hold freezer, so I sent them off to be cremated together and scattered on a local orchard.

Saw a little boy veiled today while I was collecting supplies, and was shocked by how tempted I was! I may be ready sooner than I expected, though I definitely don't have room for a large enough enclosure right now unless I gave up my bed. Some day, though! Another 36x18x36 ExoTerta, or perhaps a cabinet conversion... ?

You could always build one like an upper cabinet, mount to the wall...studs are 16" on center, 32" wide would give you 2 studs to mount to.....

I'd consider doing something wall mounted, but I rent and I don't expect to be here long term - maybe another 6 months or so, a year tops. That does give me some interesting ideas, though! Hmm! I doubt I'd be able to pull it off myself, with my lack of wood working ability, but I might be able to contract someone with cabinetry experience. Huh! Could be an interesting experiment!

Come on Amanda....give up your bed...you can do it! :)

I could just sleep on the couch indefinitely, dedicate my room to the critters. ?

oh I'm so sorry I missed this!! praying for baby lily, I understand your pain, we're going through something similar. we're sending you all of our love!!
