Sealant

Hi Guys,

Any ideas on a way to stop water from misting leaking from the gaps of the viv without taking Cham out? I was gonna use sealant 24 hours before he went in but didnt and now trying to work a way around it. I thought about putting rubber strips in but i doubt that would work, i think it needs proper sealant.

Any thoughts are apreciated.

Thanks

i just used clear sealant and it had no smell, cant remember the name tho

go to your local diy store they should help you out

I used aquarium sealant for my vivs. It needs 24 hours or so to cure though, and the smell does linger. I put Tommy in a spare cage for a day and night whilst the sealant in his viv cured. I also used sealant in Amy's terrarium to seal an offcut of vinyl flooring to the bottom to give it a nice stone effect!:D

If you plan on keeping the cham in the cage then research sealants by requesting material safety data sheets (MSDS). By law who ever sells it needs to provide the MSDS upon request and most manufacturers will have them posted on their web site. This would give you an idea of the chemicals in the sealant and associated risks (based on human exposure).

Odor has nothing to do with toxicity. Odor free does not mean always mean safe and a strong odor does not always equal a severe hazard.
