Am I missing anything?
got a screen enclosure (not sure the size yet...I'm assuming it's the 36" one..it's from a friend who used to keep a jacksons)
Fogger
Dripper
TONS of fake plants,and I'll be putting real in as well
Reptivite
Reptile Calcium with D3
5.0 Reptisun (someone said 10 is better because it penetrates the screen better? Breeder recommended the 5.0, as that's what he uses. Also, any differences between the mini and regular?)
Basking lamp..I got the Reptihalogen bulb, 50w, but I've also seen that people use just regular bulbs...Suggestions?
Sticks for climbing, and I'll be getting vines.

Questions though:
Are phoenix worms okay as a staple? or stick to Dubias and crickets?
Anyone use bamboo in cages? How does it hold up?

I'd stick with dubia and or crickets and you should also get plain calcium. Bamboo I've heard works, just maybe sand it a bit so it's not to smooth otherwise it not might have much grip.
 
The basking bulb should be alright, wont know until you get some temperature readings.. you'll need a couple thermometers and a hygrometer, digital is better. You'll need something to mist the cage, a fogger is great for humidity but a mister will keep him better hydrated.. Stick to crickets and roaches as a staple, but mix it up with other feeders. Dont know about the bamboo, never had it in my cage, are you talking about live ones or fake ones or just branches.. get the enclosure all set up and monitor the temps and humidity for a couple days before getting the cham.. What species are you getting since different ones have different requirements. check out the general forum for care sheets for different breeds.

Okay cool...Plain calcium every other feeding, with the D3 one once a week, correct? good to know about the foods =]

Oh yes, I've got those. Well, rather, I have a temp gun, but will get a Hygrometer for it. Got a spray bottle, and I saw something about pressurized ones are awesome? can get those. For bamboo, probably cuts of it. It'll be totally set up by next weekend, which is still before he can be shipped to me, so i've got a couple weeks. He's an Ambilobe from Crazy Eyes, and totally gorgeous
 
Pressurized ones are great, look into an automated one though since spraying the enclosure 4-6 times a day by hand can get old fast, especially if you're not home.. They are pricey but well worth it

Any Brand suggestions? For now it'll be fine...I'll mist when I leave for work, and have the fiance do it before he leaves for work/school, then I'll do it again when i get home. =3 I'm used to misting lots xD Plus, If we move closer to my work, i can go home at lunch and mist again =D
 
I use a mistking and its fantastic.. There are others here that use Aquazamp and seem to like them.. Stay away from the exo-terra or zoomed misters, they don't last at all..

yeah, seems to be a trend with a lot of their products ;D I'll check all those out. Also...I know this friends cham died from MBD, (he didn't research...he's an impulse buyer...) but what sort of cleaning should I do on the enclosure and fogger to ensure there's nothing that can be transmitted to my new baby? The dripper, I'll just get new tubing and dilute bleach it...should I do the same to the enclosure and fogger?
 
Diluted bleach is fine... A 10-1 ratio would be fine, MBD isn't contagious but you should clean it out regardless.. Wash the plants too..

Yeah, I'm not worried about the mbd, just whatever else could have been growing. o.o Everything will be getting a good soak in bleach. Foggers are easy to clean, right? xD
 
probably a Reptifogger, the monsoon is a "rain" system.. Pretty easy to clean though, soak the water reservoir in a diluted bleach mix, and fill the base with the same, let sit and rinse. I personally don't have one but seen them.. I use a humidifier, and they are pretty much the exact same thing.

Plain calcium is every feeding; calcium with D3 is twice a month and in addition you should give a multivitamin twice a month. Most people alternate the day they give the calcium with D3 with the day they give the vitamin. For example I give them on Sunday. One sunday D3 the other sunday the vitamin.
 
Welcome to the forum- you may have a problem with your fogger clogging - I think you mentioned hard water in a different thread- I have very hard water and used to put the water I use in my humidifier through a britta - I think it clogged less - I ended up having to get a new fridge and it has it's own filter so I've be using water from there instead-
I had a monsoon mister that broke in a month and the misting heads were constantly clogging up- but I've had no problems since I got an aquazamp- except the one time I ran it dry - then I just disconected the tubes to the sprayers and re primed the pump -

My panther wasn't excited by phoenix worms - he loved silkworms but I know that others had problems knowing that they were food at first (ridgebax1 has one of the best pictures I've ever seen with his baby looking like he was going to keep his worm as a teddy bear) there are some great instructions on getting silkworms to make more- blue bottle flies are one of my chameleons favorites and when my Jackson was small she loved stapple flies-

When I replaced my lights at 6 months I went with "Light my Reptiles" and replaced all my blubs with Arcadia - they last longer the t8's fit regular tube fixtures and after my problems with my monsoon and the basking bulb that burned out in a day I trust them more - at some point I'm going to replace all with high output fixtures- but I'm up to buying for 3 -and my husband needs to finish the the chameleon room first-
 
Be careful with your reptivite..... I had made the mistake of not knowing my reptivite vitamin has D3 in it, and I also had regular calcium with D3 and without D3... I was giving mine D3 every week for a month before I realized it.

So if you use reptovite do you not need to use the calcium with D3?
