I saw my 4 month old panther ambilobe female eating the dirt from a potted plant that's in her cage but she than spit it out. O was reading and I forgot to clean the live plant and resoil the plant before putting it in her cage can she become sick from this? She's sleeping right now. But tomorrow first thing I'm going to do is take that plant out and clean it and replant it. Any advise

You don't have to repot the plants.n necessarily, just get some very large stones (larger than her head) and cover the soil so she can't get to it.

This is a good time to check the caresheets and make sure that your supplements and gutloading are good. She could be eating soil because she is missing nutrients. Animals will sometimes do that.

Oh that's very unusual for a chameleon to just take a bit out of dirt lol. My Cham once ate some of his substrate but he was able to pass it bc it was only a little, do u know how much ur Cham ate?

I enjoy your post title. It's concise simplicity with an air of mystery. "She ate dirt". The finality of It all!
On a side note,I wouldn' be too concerned. I tried dirt one time, just for shits and giggles. Tastes like gritty chicken honestly. Some times animals eat small rocks, sand, and pebbles as a digestive aid too.

She really didn't eat it she spit it out. But it was a little piece
Your Cham should be fine!! My Cham (being 3mo the old at the time) ate a pretty large amount of dirt and I got so scared! But he was able to pass it on the next day or so. Just look out for it in your chams poop and if u don't see it in the next week then I would be a little concerned but ur Cham should be just fine ;)
