Shedding skin relative to retaining water?

I have noticed that two of my females seem to retain a little bit of fluid around the time they are due to shed, or shedding.
Do other keepers experience this, and does it have anything to do with the female keeping her self hydrated through the shedding process?

I have never noticed this.. but it makes sense that they'd need the extra water since they would be in the need on creating new skin.
