Shedding

I keep thinking that my chameleon is about to shed but he hasn't. One day I found near his crown a white patch, like he was shedding but it turns out he wasn't. A few days later there was a white piece hanging near his nose. I feel like he should have shed by now! what are some signs that they are about to shed? And does it usually take a few days for them to actually do it? I know that when they are in the actual process it should only take a few hours to a day, max. Any thoughts?

How old is your cham? My 1.5 year old takes a few days and it comes on really slow, especially on his head. But my 8 month old only takes about a day.

How long ago was his last shed?

Yeah if he's young, wouldn't doubt if you missed it while at work my guy finishes in a span of hours. But as adults they do take a lot longer

He is a little under 3 months. I got him from a pet store so I don't know when his last shed was, they didn't tell me. Wouldn't his skin be on the bottom of the cage? He is a tiny little dude too

yeah def at that age can be done in a couple of hours and will prob be shedding every 2-3 weeks, you may find some shed pieces around the cage from it being rubbed off.

Yeah he should shed every couple weeks minimally at that age... even at 8 months, Ender is shedding at about that rate. For your guy a shed should be pretty quick. Might not even notice.

congrats, its really cool watching them grow and change colours/patterns come in take lots of pictures

After his shed yesterday I noticed that he still has a piece of skin attached to the top of his head, a piece near his mouth and a small one connected to his side, none of which seem to be hurting him. Should I just leave it and wait for it to come off on its own or should I be worried? he wont let me near him right now to even try to pull it off, and I know it is not good to do that anyways
