Should I put large rocks on top of the dirt?

Should I put large rocks on top of the dirt of the ficus tree that is in the cage? I don't want my cham eating a cricket off the dirt and getting dirt in his mouth. Also the leaves on the ficus are turning yellow and some are falling off. How do I fix this? Will the lights help the tree?

Yes you can put rocks! And as far as the ficus leave it in there for few few days and if it's still dying get a plant grow bulb.

Make sure the rocks are too big for your Cham to eat! As for the ficus, they can be tempermental...everytime I moved mine it would drop just about every leaf, but they always came back!
