I purchased 125 silkworms...decided I'd feed half to my chams, and keep the other half. So I was trying to get 60+ silkworms to cocoon, and had zero success. ALL DIED except for 2...which didn't look that great either, so I just fed 'em to my chams. Some notes:
Had them in 4 different containers, fed them 2 mulberry leaves a day, cleaned out their containers daily (leftover dried up leaves, poop). Fed them shredded carrots after the leaves ran out. They seemed to die for no reason...they'd be deflated, yellow goo...probably bacterial infections? Not entirely sure what's going on.
This was my second experience with silkies. The first time, I saw some success, but unfortunately fed the most off to my Jacksons. I only saved two, which boths successfully cocooned. But they both came out as females. Yes, I know, I'm an idiot. Help me out?
