smelly crickets

So I just bought like 80 crickets and they smell! I really don't want it to stink up my room their in a big tote bin.
But I was wondering what I could do to make it not smell so much?
I was thinking a car air fresher or the arm & hammer thingy you stick in the refrigerator or like hook up an air filter thing that people use in the house for allergies. Anyone try these or got suggestions?

keep the cricket bin as clean as you can and feed them orange slices with their other gut load foods. oranges neutralize odors

Yeah I try to fully clean it about once ever two weeks lol I been sticking strawberries in their ill try oranges.

Every two weeks isn't often enough. No wonder they smell. Try scooping out frass and dead crickets every other day, and then still doing full cleanings (bleach and the works) every two weeks.

Probably need more ventilation. Cut out the sides of the plastic bin and hot glue window screen over the holes. And remove any dead crickets ASAP because that's what causes the sewer stink. I keep 500 at a time and don't have to clean them out more than spot cleaning for a month at a time. Then i clean it out completely before the next batch gets put in. The only time they stink for me is if there are dead ones in there. Make sure they are well hydrated (keeps them alive longer), have good ventilation (keeps them alive and minimizes smell) and plenty of space (lots of egg crates) sp they don't get overcrowded.

Oh yeah I take dead ones out everyday and I put the gutloads on a wet paper towel in a jar lid. But don't really have it vented I just been taking the lid off every day for hours. I care for them almost as much as my Chameleons
but ill try to vent it with the screen I got extra from the cage I built lol

I would try using a substrate for them like Eco earth. I haven't cleaned my cricket aquarium in forever. Some of you know how long months lol. But, it's barely starting to smell. So I guess I need to clean it now. I jinxed myself, but of course it needs to be done. Oh well.

Yes. Keep it super dry. Ventilation is good too. But I think this stuff absorbs the smell.

Ah alrighty I just saw that at pet co ill try the Eco Earth out and the ventilation with the screen when I need to restock their food!
