Thats REALLY cool! Ive always been interested in mantis'. Havent seen much around here lately.

Ya those are some good shots. Im envious. How did you get into macro photography? Why did you choose mantises as a subject? Are those your insects or other peoples?

I've kept a couple of types of mantis, until I realized that it was illegal for me to have them here in Florida. Here are a couple of pics:

damn macro, you do it again, im just shocked how amazing these photos are, and also the photo technique at photo shop. Im beginning to love mantis more and more :) do they bite?

i am really amazed by these insects, by far my favorite.

its rare to find them out here, i caught a female a while back, she laid some egg things, and then died i was depressed, i thought the eggs were not fertile, few months later i had a bunch of baby mantis, so i let them go
 
the common chinse mantis..im oging to stop breeding these..its got to the stage in the uk where nympths are worth pennys.nothings worse than being stuck with 100s of nympths that no one wants..so this will be my last time with them

i saw pics on the internet and wanted the ssme images so i bought an slr and itprogressed from there/iv been doing macro for 18 months.there all my mantids:)some i havent got any more because mantids dont have a very long life span..this is whats good about them..you can enjoy lots of difrent speices..when it dies you can buy a difrent one..ant mantids dont live long at tall.6 months or so..others live about a year.

yer i know..that sucks big time/nice orchid mantis:).i have managed to get shot of 1st instar orhid mantis yet..im surprised u have?if you buy them from good breeders they wont sale them till there L3..by that time they have lost there orange and jet black colour..they then get very pink untill adult when they loose most of there colour unless your lucky..some of them stay pink when they shed to adult.only some tho.

Thanks..no they dont bite..theres a few species that are agresive but you want find them for sale.iv never been bit.
