some nice pictures....

Thank you Chris for writing this up and clarifying the history of Madagascar exports, CITES and a little bit about the smuggling of animals. I was hoping you would weigh in here.

I do think having a stickied discussion thread in the Science and Conservation section about endangered species, CITES, importing/exporting and laundered animals would be beneficial for our readers, both seasoned keepers as well as new people to the hobby that see some of these rarer species and want them in their collection. There are lots of links and literature if people are interested in pursuing this topic more.

Awesome post Chris, that was extremely informative. I've always been curious about the different legality of certain species between different countries and how that all works out. This is one of the coolest threads on this site, I hope it can stay that way.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for posting this piece to the threat.
I understand your position as head moderator and your role to stay neutral.
Like i said before we do our best to be conform all regulations that our Country gives us,its a complex situation and in many of our neighbor country's other laws and policy are involved .
Our goal is to keep and breed these species on a legal way and to build op stable breeding groups in captivity .
Most important is that aggression on the forum is stops and people and conversations can go on in a respectful way.
Its not done that people blame you for illegal trade if you got nothing to do with it and if you are conform all regulations.
I hope to continue this threat with positive European breeding records and giving extra information about keeping and breeding these species in the best conditions.
Kind regards
Jurgen

I notice that many people have difficulties in seeing the difference between juvenile C parsonii yellow lips and C parsonii orange eyes.
I think it is because yellow lips are way more rare than orange eyes and often orange eyes are sold as yellow lips.
Their is a big difference in coloration.
I have 12 juveniles of yellow lips in my facility(I'm working on papers for sending to the US because of the big demand.
Here some pictures of TRUE yellow lips.
Enjoy
