Spots on leg and foot

Just red back over it and you are not listening to what's being said. Forget everything at the moment and get the uvb then come back on here once you have it and well assist you with the next steps

Heres the deal.
If you want a healthy cham, start listening. You've been told several times your bulbs are wrong. and if you don't change them, your cham WILL develop metabolic bone disease, and then you can kiss away spending money on anything but her. she will need a vet, and shots, and extra round the clock care from you, and if youre lucky, you'll be able to save her.

Im not trying to scare you, but you aren't listening to the recommendations being made, and if you do that, then youre in for a world of trouble with this cham.

They are not hard to care for, just specialized. PLEASE read the care sheet I posted below, and pay attention, then make the changes.

The bulbs you have, BOTH OF THEM. are wrong. plain and simple.

You want a UVB bulb a reptiglo or reptisun 5.0. you need a regular house bulb for basking. use different wattages until you get a basking temp of 84.

next read this care sheet. follow the directions within it as if it were the cham bible, because it is essentially.

Here is a pic of set up. I just got a UVB bulb, it's the one to the left the other is the basking light. Are these in correct spot? Should I have one in front of the other?

I appreciate all the advice. Sorry for the idiocy on my end!

There's no correct spot for them as long as they are on top.

You should look into a screen cage for her, as that set up wont last her long as she grows.

youll also need a cage big enough for her egg laying bin.

and yes, they lay eggs even when never mated.

and you have to have a lay bin in with her at all times onces shes mature because you can often miss the signs of egg laying when they aren't bred.

Thanks again for all the help. I feel better now that I have the proper lighting. That's why I asked a lot of the same questions because I didn't have a good feeling about the set up I have now. I will be moving him to a larger screened cage soon.

I noticed you mentioned her? I am under the impression my cham is he?

I thought you said it was a female somewhere.

anyway its easy enough to check, look at the back of the back feet, if theres a tarsal spur, aka heel like thing, its male, no spur, is a female.

Reading through the whole of this I feel as if your kind of still not listening.

answer these if you could please, what are the names of the bulbs you have?
and what is the temperature of your highest branch in your cage/viv?

oh yes and do you know whether its a male or a female?

I was thinking the same thing...

Also, how is the possible burning doing, the whole reason for this thread?

I had a zoomed 75 watt bulb but took it out and replaced with a 60 watt house bulb since I was informed that bulb was wrong.
I now have a Reptile UVB 150-13 watt exo terra bulb that I replaced with the red bulb.
Temp in basking spot is 85
I now know I have a female since I do not see a spur on back of foot. Petco guy misinformed me I that as well.
Her foot is doing better but not 100% healed yet.
How long does it take to heal usually?
The lights I have now sufficient?

Thank you!

I'm glad to hear that her foot is looking better. No your lights are not correct. I believe I gave you my blogs in another one of your threads earlier but I'll repeat them here. If you read them if will tell you what you need to know to keep your chameleon alive. For UV you need a Reptisun 5.0 tube style and unless your house is cold I don't use basking lights on babies and females at all. If your house is cold use a household bulb of 15 to 25 watt or so, you will have to test her temps to see which watt brings her temps to the very low 80's. As I advised you in your other thread I'd get everything switch out right away. IMO you chameleon doesn't look so good and I'd want to get the proper husbandry for her immediately.

I am very aware of the tube light but keep in mind this is a 10 gallon vertical tank she is temp in. The top part of the cage is small so the mini dome lights is what I could find to use.

Here is another pic of her temporary cage. I am trying to do the right thing until I can get her into a bigger screened cage. The UVB light I posted is the one I the back the other bulb is the basking bulb in front. All I'm asking is to get some advice on getting her set up properly with what I have. As you can see she is dark colored so that is concerning me. She eats regularly goes to bathroom regularly and overall does not have any obvious issues other than color being dark during the day. At night she is green as can be. When I first got her she was very green but hasn't been the same since.

what are the correct measurements of your tank in INCHES please??

Length:
Width:
Depth:

you need more foliage I even feel exposed for your chammy but some more fake plants/leafs to give her some hiding spaces and make sure to do as much research as possible about her egg laying specifications.

and please reply with the information I need, it will be a great help for me, you and the life of your chammy :)

personally you could do with getting a bigger viv now to be honest but if this strictly isnt an option yet then here are some examples of what you could have for your UVB lighting setup :)

heres is just an example yes the tube lighting is 15inch but with the reflective holder and the size of your tank it will be slight bigger then your viv, cage etc but it wont matter until you upgrade but i would recommend getting a bigger viv ...

I don't see why he couldn't get by using a CFL UVB bulb until he upgrades her cage. I agree that you get a better spread of UVB light with the tube style fixture, but for now, in the temporary enclosure I would think the UVB CFL would be ok. I'm not as familiar with the brand he has, I've only used Reptisuns.

This is no good for 10 gallon tank?

this is the wrong bulb.

you have a desert one, you need reptiglo or reptisun. ONLY.

5.0

A tube is better for coverage, but the coil style is fine until you upgrade the cage, which you should do asap anyway.

I use basking bulbs on all my chams, female or not, babies as well. her basking temp should be no higher than 83 right now. a screen cage is best as it can regulate temps better.
