Mist his whole head for a few seconds and the rest of his body too.

Yea, veileds can retract their eyes. So dont worry about that.
With that taken care of i have another question.
Do you use a house bulb too?
These give of UVA light. i would suggest you get a low wattage for him.

I am not sure about that bulb.
House bulbs are great though. i am sure you have some in a drawer in the kitchen or laundry room.

i shouldnt use the blue bulb(i think its called a daylight bulb if i remember correctly it gives off uva), at first i used that ulb and an 18 inch reptisun 5.0 bulb

a lot of the people on the forum say reptisun 5.0!
I use MVB on all of my cages and havent had a problem yet.
It is really up to you.
It sounds like you have it under conrol to me. With a young chameleon in a small cage you dont want it right on top of the cage.

Sorry to be vague.

I use a repti-sun 5.0 and a basking light. I think the "blue" one you're referring to is fine.
I do not use a Mercury Vapor bulb.
