Sticky goop in the eye

My female panther chameleon has been with me for about a year and a half so far. But since this Tuesday she has gotten this weird white goop stuff in her right eye. She is occasionally able to get it out via rubbing her eye on a leaf or me lightly spraying water on her eye but other than that I don't know how to fix this problem. Does anyone know how to avoid or treat this issue that she has?

Have you changed lights or added plants lately? How do you water her? How often?
I have not added any new plants or lights recently. I usually water her by hand on the left front of the cage, I also have an auto mister and occasionally give horn worms. I check on her/give water every 3 hours or so and the mister should turn on every two hours.

Do you clean the things you use for watering her on regular basis?

(Sorry for all the questions but I try to eliminate things with the questions.)

Off topic...has she ever laid eggs?
To answer both of your questions (sorry if I replied late), I usually refill the containers of water with purified from my fridge but I don't believe I have exactly cleaned it. She has laid eggs twice and I have given her a terrarium filled with dirt to lay her eggs in, she seems to be fine after laying eggs.

Always defer to Kinyonga.. but I happen to be awake with a migraine right now so I'll offer some of what I know. Is she going through a shed? I enlarged the pic and it seems like there's some skin there, have you changed anything in the enclosure? AC running in the house now? they will rub their face to remove shed and also if something is bothering them. It could also be an infection but you're there and can see first hand and would know better than us and her eye doesn't look "goopy" to me.. can you share more pics? also ETA she's pretty cute :)

Hello! Noodle has shed very recently. I have not changed anything to enclosure but I have started occasionally giving horn worms to her. I don't use AC but I open my window a little. Thank you! :)

Update: So I woke up this morning and checked on her eye to see if the goop stuff was still there. I actually didn't see any today and her eyes were moving a lot. She even got a cricket! Although it seems to be over (probably because I sprayed some water in her eye) I don't know how it happened so please let me know about that part. I will update this if anything else happens with her.

Good to hear about the eye improving. Let us know if it gets goopy again.

Regarding the eggs...I asked for two reasons...she is on the chunky side and I wanted to make sure the she was able to lay them ok. How many were in each clutch. Infertile?

Thank you for the reply, she has some goop on the eye but not too much as the past days. About the eggs I don't really know how much she lays at a time but I know they are infertile. Should I give her less bugs to eat? I'm pretty sure she usually doesn't care about crickets if she isn't hungry. If she does lay eggs in the next couple of weeks she should be okay for them.

What do you do with the eggs? Can you approximate?

Females that produce big clutches often live shorter lives and can become eggbound and suffer from follicular stasis or other health issues.

Count the eggs in the next clutch and if it's over 18 I would consider cutting her food back a bit then, if you want to cut the clutch size down in the future. I wouldn't really start now. Post as soon as she lays the eggs and you've counted them next time.

I usually throw the eggs away. From what I can approximate, I have only seen one egg on the bottom of her terrarium that was kinda opened(no baby). I also checked the terrarium with dirt in it and there were none (I don't remember if it is new soil or not) so maybe there are like 1-10 maybe. I don't think that she would produce clutch of over 18 but I will check the next time she shows that she wants to dig. Thank you for letting me know about that! :)

Update#2: Yesterday afternoon I went to my local exotic reptile store(not a corporate shop that has a lot of great stuff for chameleons and has staff that knows a lot about the reptiles). I asked them about my issue with noodle since I wanted a diverse amount of info about her eye thing and they said they had the same type of problem. They recommended these eye drops for reptiles called turtle drops and said it would help her if I give it to her a few times a day. I think I have seen the same answer from some people in the forums so I hope it works. I will further update this if the drops work or not.
