Strange behavior

My chameleon (veiled) that i purchased from a local pet store, a trustworthy one btw not petco, in April of 2015. She has grown a lot, i follow the supplement guide but recently she has begun to show her colors (spots of orange/brown, blue etc.) and has begun to almost "run" around the cage climbing everywhere. Like all of a sudden she has gotten so active its not even funny. I still need to upgrade her cage to the larger size but there are plenty of climbing places for her. She is also walking around the bottom of the cage more. My guess is that it is the beginning of her egg laying period that is causing all this and she is looking for a place to lay them. plz help

Yes I would agree with your assessment. You need to get a egg laying ben in there as soon as possible. Here is a link to how to do it.

as i put the bin in i am wondering, should i keep my reptirain on and if so should i spray less than normal?

I would just keep your misting schedule the same. I keep a lay bin in my female's cage at all times, that way she can lay at her own leisure... Definitely cover her cage, the ladies value their privacy!

Hahaha I know EXACTLY what you're going through. I just had one of my females lay and it took her a week of fasting and pacing around before she even started digging. Then she dug a hole and laid 31 eggs all within a couple hours. My advice is to be patient and give her a lot of privacy. Millions of years of evolution should kick in if the conditions are correct. They know what to do...

I'm not sure how large your cage is but I always move my females to a big garbage bin with a foot of wet sand and some branches/greenery for cover. Then I put my old iPhone in it with an app that you can watch video of them from another phone. Easier to observe and collect eggs, and gives them more options for digging.
