Stuck sperm plugs - help Plz -

Hey thx again. I had to head out for the day. Poor mr Maliki is still lookin uncomfortable and soar. I am going to see how he looks tomorrow and maybe try again. I am also going to give my vet a call tomorrow and see what he thinks.
Thx Trace for putting up the pics of his last plugs. Poor guy just can't seem to do it on his own.
I'm confident if I could get enough out that I could remove them. But they won't really even start but I can see them in there. But I can't just pick at him. I have been ultra hydrating him and plan to shower and soak him as much as possible.
Urghhh pain of a problem.

Hoj-

Like the others, I suggest soaking in warm water, and giving long, warm showers. Also- putting some KY Jelly should help as well. In my experience, giving the soaking and warm showers did the trick. Hope all works out!

What causes this?

I have never seen anything like this, not in the cage nothing. Do we know what causes this. If they don't breed?

Chameleon version of blue balls...

Go purchase a simple clear plastic shoebox at any Target.

Drill multiple holes along the top, make it damn near a screen since you want air flow.

Place 1" of water in the bottom, luke warm.

Take a plastic coat hanger, cut it to fit in the bottom of the box and place it on the bottom securely. That lets the cham have something to hold on to in 1" deep water.

Place the lid on the box.

Leave cham stewing in luke warm water for an hour.

Add diced onions, carrots, bell peppers and a little beef broth to the mix before cooking. OH ... wait.. forget the last.

After a nice soak in luke warm water with a well ventilated plastic shoebox if those plugs are going to come out they will. If not then stop messing with him and take him to a vet that knows Chams.

I do not know the reasons or cause of the occasional plug issues but I've had Chams that never have this problem and I have had a few that had the issue occur. I've never seen rhyme or reason to it.

Well I tried and they did not seem to want to come out. I gave him a good long shower soaked his butt for a good bit. Wrapped him in a towel and tried my best but only got a little bit out. It is right in there and I really am not going to go digging around in there. He seems ok now a little soar I am sure.
I think I will give him a few days and try the shoe box idea. And then if not luck off to the vet.
In the mean time lots of extra misting and maybe with any luck he will push them out.

Has he pooped since you've seen this?

Yes he has pooped but it seems to come more from the middle where as the plugs are more on the side.
