if this is your first cham, i would try and get a male (that way you wont have to worry about egg laying, or possible egg binding)..males are easier..

cage looks awesome!! if its for a baby cham, ied section off a small portion untill he/she grows a lil bigger, easier to deal with for feeding, cleaning, ect ect..

Here's something that I found:

They do well in bright indirect light as well as low light and can be grown in dry soil or in vases of water. They will thrive in nutrient rich soil, but do almost as well in nutrient poor soil.
