I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about supperworms? I know you probley shouldn't feed them all the time because of the hard shell to digest but is it really? She doesn't bother with crickets if there is a supperworm vs cricket she would take the supperworm..plus she loves butter worms..how bad are supperworms?

super worms are not very nutritious. they are not a good staple to feed. i suggest to just leeve a couple crickets to roam around the chams enclosure and he will eat them sooner or later. if he doesnt eat those cricket within a couple days then try dubia roaches. he should defintatly eat something staple like roaches or crickets. it is NOT recommended that you use worms as a staple. use them as snacks.

Superworms are not bad if gutloaded properly. You should be using a large variety of feeders. Try dubia, silkworms, hornworms, flies and moths.

Supers (when well gutloaded) are fine for about 10% of a chameleons diet. But they are too fatty to be considered a good choice for more frequent use, IMHO, especially for a female that is not breeding. Butterworms are also fine for 10% of her diet (they are less fatty than supers, but harder to gutload). If you dont offer too many (or any) larva, the chameleon will eat crickets and other feeders. Variety is important. Silkworms are another good choice and they could make up 20% of a chameleons diet, when well gutloaded on mulberry, dandelion etc.

I only use loaded superworms when my chams get bored of their food. Superworms are so active that they really grab thier eye. I only feed a few as treat though. They shouldn't be part of a staple diet, IMO.

I feed a lot of super worms and their beetles. But I also feed horn worms and silk worms and crickets. All my Chameleons seem to prefer crickets the least.
Also from what I have read about wild chameleons, they seem to prefer beetles, so I wouldn't think super worms would be too hard to digest.
