Supplement brands?

What are some of the brands of the supplements you guys use? Mostly multivitamin, im currently using herptivite by rep-cal but have heard positive and negative thoughts about them. What are some good calcium brands as well? Both with and without d3.

Sticky tongue farms is a good calcium with and without D3. indoor has d3, outdoor has no d3. I use herptivite as multivitamin. Don't use reptivite, as it basically has everything in it and is high in phosphorus.

How often do you usually dust with the d3? And how many crickets do you dust with it usually? Im sorry for all the questions i just want to make sure i get it right haha;)

I use Rep-Cal products with no issues for my indoor veiled. Calcium no D3, Calcium w/ D3 and Herpivite multi-vit.

I assume you have a Veiled by looking at your profile pic lol. The most common supplement schedule you'll get here is Calcium with no D3 daily at every feeding. Calcium with D3 twice per month and multi-vitamin twice per month (alternating with the D3).

Gutloading your feeders with fresh veggies such as dandelion greens, escarole, kale, carrots, melon, and apples (I know I am missing some other good veggies lol) is also a must for a healthy Chameleon. You can also put dandelion, kale, and escarole greens in the chams cage for him/her to munch on as well.

Another note: If you bring your cham outside for direct sunlight a few hours per week you can dial back the D3 supplement. The cham will produce enough D3 on its own when they are taken outside for direct sun exposure.

For years now I've used Rep-cal phosphorous-free calcium powder and Rep-cal phosphorous-free calcium/D3 powder and Herptivite. I dust all the insects im feeding to the chameleon with the phosphorous-free calcium powder at almost every feeding. I dust them all twice a month with the phosphorous-free calcium/D3 powder and twice a month with the Herptivite.

I feed/gutload the crickets, superworms, roaches, locusts with a wide assortment of greens and veggies and a bit of fruit...dandelion greens, kale, collards, endive, escarole, squash, zucchini, sweet potato, sweet red pepper, carrots, apple, pear, berries, melon, etc.

Make sure your basking temperatures are right since it plays a part in digestion and thus indirectly in nutrient absorption.

Ive noticed the herptivite does not have vitamin a, whats a good way to substitute? Or make sure they're getting enough vit a?

It has beta carotene. I think that is Proformed vitamin A.

Beta carotene is prOformed vitamin a but there is controversy as to whether any/all chameleons can convert it to prEformed so some people add reptivite to their dusting once in a while. PrEformed vitamin A can build up though so you have to be careful with it. Vitamin D3 and vitamin a are somewhat antagonistic to each other too so they need to be in balance.
