Swollen Area Behind Left Eye

Hi all I was just looking at my little Jackson's and I noticed a swollen area right behind his left eye. While it doesn't appear to hinder or bother him in any way I'm still concerned what it could be. Does anyone have any ideas? His cage is clean and gets regular supplements and has never had a problem. I've read around on the internet and I've heard that over supplementation can have a similar effect. I dust a cricket for him once or twice a week, so I didn't think I was dusting too much. Any help you guys can offer would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: I do feed my crickets large amounts of carrot if anyone thinks that could have something to do with it.

Oversupplemention usually causes gular edema (throat area).

Jackson's are prone to the gland in the corner of the mouth getting infected.

Thanks kinyonga, I saw that online. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow once my guy is awake. I don't know what it is. I looked online at every resource I could find. If it's not oversupplementation, I don't know what it could be. It's the space behind his left eye so I don't know. I'd rather not have to bring a vet visit into it, but I will of course if I can't figure out what it is.

You're right. It is an infection of his temporal lobe. I read online that Jackson's are prone to it. I've called the vet nearby and I'm waiting for a callback so I can setup an appointment. Does anyone know what vets usually charge for working with reptiles?

How far are you from Orlando? I'm 2 hours away but still go to a wonderful chameleon vet there. He has ALLOT of chameleons and really knows allot about them. He's not too expensive either. Jann

Thanks for the posts, guys. I'm going to a vet in Ocala that is reputed to be very good. Unfortunately Orlando is about a 3 hour drive from here, so I sought something closer. But again, thanks for your posts. And information is informative. What's the vet in Orlando called? Does anyone have a general quote of how vets charge for reptiles?

My last visit for Carla and her pulled out/infected toenail was $40.00 for the office visit and $40.00 for a 10 day supply of Baytril filed syringes. My Vet is very reasonable and I am sure I am getting a "multi-pet" discount.

Thats not too bad at all. I was charged around $100 for a vet to tell me my cham had a URI and 4 injections of baytril
